SIDDHARTHA

Siddhartha was the prince who became the Buddha. He lived a protected life, was well educated, and had no idea about the suffering in his kingdom as his father wanted to protect him from all these things. He married; had a son; and one day heard wailing over the walls separating him from his sanctuary and the rest of the world. He asked about it, and a friend told him of the suffering. his compassion caused him to leave the safety of his palace, and go to see what he could do to ease suffering. He became a wandering siddhi, and eventually became the Buddha.
