TRISHNA JEWELRY designs Tibetan stone gaus. Gaus are, simply, prayer boxes. In these gaus the back simply pops out, meaning they are not hinged. Sizes vary, but most are 3/4"-1" long. This is a very common type of gau worn by the Tibetans. These are handmade, so each varies slightly. and it is very hard to show one example of the stone's shape in it's setting.

This page contains many different stone gaus: Lapis, Coral, Rose Quartz, Malachite, Tiger Eye, and Turquoise!

Red Coral is very expensive and we will not buy beads, as they are harming the coral reefs. We will buy the gaus, however, from the Tibetans. To compliment the coral, we use carnelian, red jasper, and a Tibetan glass bead to compliment our red coral gaus. When we use coral beads, we are using reclaimed coral from necklaces that we buy at estate sales and take apart. If you have older coral, and would like it rebeaded with a paired with a coral gau, contact us!

Lapis is also very expensive, though it is relatively easy to obtain, but Sodalite is beautiful, not as clear or deep a cobalt blue, more a denim color, with bits of white and black imbedded. It is relatively inexpensive. The sodalite looks good with the Lapis gau. To see our Turquoise Gaus, click here!

Note: Our Malachite would not photograph in it's deep color and continues to look a spring-y grass green - and it is one of the colors that continues to come across in each monitor differently! Oh well. It is a deeper color with occasional banding in black.
