RECEPTIVITY

"The upraised arms and strong legs represent the power of our creative, generative impulses," Jane Iris. Receptivity is a little over 1" tall.

"Receptivity" is a figure found in many cultures all over the world. In Ireland she is known as Sheela-na-gig; in India she is known as Adya-Shakti. Her body is the very hills and rivers of earth! In 7000 b.c. Greece small icons were made in her image! Some believe she is the Original Birth of Creation; some see her as receptive to earth energy or a Mother Earth (Gaia) goddess. She is a powerful feminine symbol!

Sheela-Na-Gig is a wonderful Yoni Goddess whose image has appeared in many forms around the world; this particular image is on the Church of St. Mary and St. David Kilpeck in Herefordshire, England.

AKU'ABA

Garnet and Bronze Fertility Goddess

Primitive oblong garnets and primitive bronze "clubs" that dangle create this unusual necklace for the collector. The image is of African origin; we cannot tell you much about the piece because it was bought at an antique store. New? Old? Bronze? I am guessing brass, and new, and some sort of fertility goddess. Longer length of 20-inches and a bronze-hued metal toggle finishes the piece.
